Piek is a gray Ankylosaurus and a secondary character in Abenteuer im Land der Dinosaurier.
Appearance[]
Piek is a gray Ankylosaurus, although unrestored prints often depict him as a lighter gray-green. He is a quadruped, has spikes on his back and a tail with a lion-like tassel at the end. He has black eyes, pig-like ears and a horn extending from his nose.
Personality[]
Piek is depicted as a mischievous observer, frequently delivering wry or derisive commentary on situations instead of acting as a direct participant. While conscious of the implausibility of Kri's attempts to teach Tio flight, Piek nonetheless makes no effort to attenuate the situation, conversely remaining to spectate on its failure (despite Kri's irritation at his presence). Similarly, Piek later greets Tio's distraught melancholy at the discovery of Tio II with mocking and largely-unsympathetic commentary describing Tio as "obsolete" (now your parents have a new kid/out you go on the dustbin lid!). Due to both his frequent lack of tact and his tendency to speak solely in rhyming couplets, Piek is resultantly viewed with either indifference or antagonism (in the case of Kri, who refers to him as a 'freak') by the film's other dinosaur characters.
